'Rangasthalam' Teaser: Staring at the big Ram Charan makeover

The teaser of 'Rangasthalam' presents a Ram Charan whose demeanor comes off as a cross between the Tamil hero of a film set in a rustic backdrop and a subtly glamorized Telugu hero (look at his beard).
As things stand, the Mega Power Star is in for a makeover, thanks to Sukumar, whose heroes (from Allu Arjun's 'Arya' to Mahesh Babu's '1: Nenokkadine' and NTR's 'Nannaku Prematho') have always defied conventions.
As Chitti Babu, the deaf hero is a sort of "Sound Engineer", a moniker floated by his village's residents (by the way, was this an in-thing in the '80s, in which era the film's story unfolds?). "Naa Peru Chitti Babu andi. Andhariki vinabaduthundhi Naaku kanabaduthundhi," says the protagonist who can literally read lip movements.
If nothing else satisfies the mass audience, the last shot of the teaser should. The hero's Godavari slang completes the wholesome meal.
Also starring Samantha Akkineni, Aadhi Pinishetty, Jagapathi Babu, Gauthami, and Anasuya Bharadwaj, the March 30 release has a special song featuring Pooja Hegde. Music is by Devi Sri Prasad, cinematography is by Ratnavelu and editing is by Navin Nooli. Fights are by Ram-Laxman duo. Lyrics are by Chandrabose.
