'Rangasthalam' has reportedly created an all-time record in Chennai in terms of its first day gross among the Telugu releases there. The Ram Charan-starrer has made Rs. 25 lakhs, which is slightly more than Agnyaathavaasi's Rs. 24 lakhs. The Saturday and Sunday figures are expected to be even more encouraging.
It may be noted that the Sukumar-directed period drama is lucky to have had a huge advantage because of the ongoing Kollywood shutdown.
It hit the cinemas in as many as 107 screens on March 30 in Tamil Nadu. "This is the highest ever theater count for the star in TN. Many are offering the film big screens due to lack of Tamil content," columnist Sreedhar Pillai had said.
