Rangam
In the recent past, no other Tamil to Telugu dubbed film had this kind of positive buzz. Rangam is an upcoming film directed by KV Anand starring Jiva, Ajmal , Karthika and Piya Bajpai in lead roles. This film released as 'Ko' in Tamil. Hero Jeeva is the son of popular T'wood producer R B Chowdhary from Supergood films.
This movie is said to be a political action thriller about the adventures of a photo journalist, played by Jeeva, who finds himself in trouble when investigating a mystery case as a gang of musclemen are after him.
Yesteryear glam doll Radha's daughter, Karthika who was last seen in Naga Chaitanya's 'Josh' will be seen in Telugu again with this film. Prakash Raj, Ajmal and Piaa are other important actors. Ajmal's character is also said to have some grey shades and the actor is excited about the challenging role.
Buzz is also there saying the film is to some extent inspired from the Hollywood flick `State of Play' in which Russell Crowe as a journalist risks his life to save his politician friend from a serious trouble ignorant of his true colours.
The movie is said to have a lot of real life incidents experienced by KV Anand when he worked as a photo journalist before turning a film cameraman. The film which started in early 2010 had a few hiccups in the casting area and that delayed the first schedule shooting.
Rangam was shot in Pondichery, Thekkadi, Madurai, Rameswaram, Thiruchendur, and a few other southern towns. Substantial part was also shot in striking locales in China and Tanzania. Richard Nathan is the cameraman.
As usual in a KV Anand film, in this too Harris Jayaraj is playing a major role in elevating the film. Apparently, KV Anand took Harris Jayaraj to all the locations of the shoot to give him a feel of the places so that he keeps the surroundings in mind when composing the music. The composing of the songs took place in Macau. The duo already had a remarkable success in `Veedokkade' starring Suriya and Tamannah.
The music of `Rangam' was launched in Hyderabad recently. The album has six songs and all are youthful varieties.
`Rangam' is produced by Kumar Jayaram for RS Infotainment and is marketed by Udhayanidhi Stalin of Red Giant Movies in Tamil. Jeeva's father R B Chowdhary is presenting this flick in Telugu. The Tamil version of the movie already released on April 22nd and evoked huge response at their box office. Celebrities, directors and media personnel have been raving about this movie and its treatment. This action thriller is all set to release either at the end of April or first week of May.
