After casting himself in the role of a repentant street rowdy, who turns to Gandhian path, in his 2009 hit Mahatma, Srikanth will be seen in the role of a petty thief in Sudhakar Naidu's next film Ranga that is coming with the tag line, 'The Donga.'

The film is directed by actor-turned-director GV Sudhakar Naidu, who is also jointly producing it with C.R.Manohar Naidu. The producers have made an announcement that the film will soon go on the floors.

After 'A Aa E Ee', the film is important for Srikanth, who badly needs a hit. The director debuted with Hero as the director, but did not meet up with success. He is hoping to register his first success as a filmmaker with this one.

Speaking to the media, GV said that Srikanth will be seen as a thief in the film. Ranga, a popular name for the typical rustic thief who earns livelihood by small-time felonies, is a characteristic name that definitely gives us an idea of how the hero's character is going to be in the movie. Ramya Krishna, Brahmanandam, MS Narayana, LB Sriram, Shivaji, Raja and Jayaprakash Reddy will play important roles in the film. Let's see if GV and Srikanth register a hit with this one.
