Randeep Hooda, currently immersed in promoting his upcoming film ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’, recently shared a glimpse of the remarkable body transformation he underwent for his role.

Taking to Instagram, Hooda delighted fans with behind-the-scenes pictures from the movie set. The actor portrays Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in the film, showcasing his dedication to the role.

In one image, Randeep is seen taking a mirror selfie, flaunting his slender physique in oversized shorts. Sharing the photo, he captioned it, “Kaala Paani.”

In a candid conversation with ANI, Hooda revealed his motivation for joining the film. “This movie is based on his (Veer Savarkar) life, between 1897 and 1950. I have fearlessly handled all the misinformation regarding him,” he explained.

Discussing his physical transformation, he shared, “When this movie came to me, I realized that I don’t resemble him, so I lost weight for this film.”

He also highlighted the lack of information about Savarkar in mainstream education. “When I started studying about him, I realized I knew very little about him, except that he was imprisoned. I also discovered many aspects of his life that are not taught in schools or discussed publicly,” Hooda stated.

Vinayak Damodar Savarkar’s grandson, Ranjit Savarkar, commended Randeep Hooda’s dedication, saying, “I had discussions with Randeep Hooda several times. He has made this film with so much effort, he reduced 30 kg weight.”

Directed by Randeep Hooda himself, the film promises to be more than just a biopic; it's an epic and daring retelling of India’s armed revolution for independence. Recently, the makers unveiled the official trailer, showcasing pivotal moments from Savarkar's life and his interactions with other leaders, such as Mahatma Gandhi, highlighting their differing ideologies.
