Brilliant actor Randeep Hooda is all set to deliver another amazing performance in his upcoming film 'Swatantra Veer Savarkar'. Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, the film is going to be a biographical drama on the life of freedom fighter Veer Savarkar and Randeep has already started to prep for the titular role.

To accurately portray the part, Hooda sheded 18kg of weight and took to Instagram to show off his transformation. Sharing a picture sporting a tank top, hat and black glasses, he wrote, "We all need a lift at times."

Talking about this transformation, Randeep told ETimes, “Yes, I am able to do these fluctuations with my body because I am inherently a sportsperson. I feel your body should be in an active space because that is what you are. Your body is the only instrument you own.”

While announcing this much awaited project in May, Randeep Hooda had stated, "There are many heroes that have played their part in getting us our independence. However, not everyone has got their due. Vinayak Damodar Savarkar is the most misunderstood, debated and influential of these unsung heroes and his story must be told. I am delighted to collaborate with Sandeep after ‘Sarabjit’, for Swatantra Veer Savarkar. It will be yet another challenging role to portray.
