Did you know that Ranbir Kapoor was not in favour of Deepika Padukone signing 'Cocktail', when it was offered to her? A movie, if you consider now, brought immense success to the tall beauty, which even brought her a superstar status. And since 'Cocktail', the actress has been hitting sixer after sixer with each release after that.

But it is indeed true - that Ranbir, who is Deepika's current co-star in 'Tamasha', admitted in an interview that he was against her to do the film. Ranbir revealed that it was that time when they were not a couple any more; but they still continued to meet each other among common friends. During one of the casual meetings, Ranbir had advised Deepika that 'Cocktail' was not right movie for her. "I didn't think that Cocktail was the right film for her and I even told her that but she was clear about her choice," quoted Ranbir. While Deepika had given freedom Ranbir to share his views on her career, she anyway went ahead and signed 'Cocktail' on a positive and confident note. And as they say.... rest is history.
