Known for his humility and patience with admirers, Ranbir Kapoor recently spoke about his attitude to celebrity in an interview with businessman Nikhil Kamath. The actor offered observations on his family's past, stating that he has grown from the achievements and mistakes of his Kapoor forebears. He particularly emphasized his late father, Rishi Kapoor, whose sometimes harsh encounters with fans shaped Ranbir's own attempts to be more friendly.

Raised in a family of eminent performers and directors, Ranbir saw early on the dynamics of stardom and failure. Growing up in a film family, I've seen many successful people and also seen many failures, he remarked. Generations of both run in my family. I looked at them trying to figure out why they failed. Early experience affected his own attitude to public events and his profession.

Ranbir related how occasionally Rishi Kapoor would turn away demands for autographs and pictures, bluntly stating, No, I am not interested in doing that! Many times, this behavior disappointed admirers; young Ranbir noted this. If somebody wants a picture or an autograph, I'm more than happy to oblige, he said, deciding he would always attempt to satisfy his admirers.

Having helped Sanjay Leela Bhansali on ‘Black’, Ranbir Kapoor made his Hindi cinema debut with his ‘Saawariya’. He most recently appeared in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's ‘Animal’. Along with Sai Pallavi, he is going to act in Nitesh Tiwari's ‘Ramayana’ and will be reunited with Bhansali in ‘Love and War’, co-starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. Ranbir will also appear in ‘Animal Park’, under direction by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
