The top contender for B-town prince charming crown Ranbir kapoor has chosen B-town radical quotient Anurag Kashyap over soft, sugar coated bubble gum romancers like Karan Johar. With all the top line directors ready to line up for the b-town Rockstar who is said to be charging 15 crores now… the heartthrob has agreed to work with Anurag Kashyap for his much awaited 'Bombay Velvet' co-starring Anushka Sharma.

It must be recalled that Ranbir declined to be the part of Karan Johar’s ambitious project along with his favorite Shahrukh Khan. Ranbir’s talked about project in the industry with Raju Hirani is still to be confirmed or denied by the concern parties.

According to sources close to IndiaGlitz Ranbir has given all the bulk dates to Anurag for the project based on 'Mumbai Fables', a semi-fictional study of Bombay in the sixties by eminent historian and Professor of History at Princeton University, Gyan Prakash.

Ranbir was supposed to appear in a major international show at the end of this year which got cancelled; he had free dates with him which has now bagged by Anurag Kashyap for the film.

Anurag Kshyap confirmed it here at FICCI Frames event yesterday, “He fits the role, he liked the role. With him I can rest easy with the kind of money involved in it. I liked his performance in most of his films till date. It was not due to his performance in 'Rockstar' that I cast him. I liked him in 'Rocket Singh'. I must say his performance in 'Rockstar' was icing on the cake in his acting career."

On the rumours of SRK and Aamir appearing in the film, Anurag made it clear by saying, “ "We have not made any announcements formally regarding Aamir and Shahrukh, all I know is that we have taken Ranbir," Anurag said.

The project is backed by Viacom 18 and the shoot starts by the end of this year..
