Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma have been paired for the first time in 'Bombay Velvet'! And after seeing their sizzling chemistry, we can surely say that this pairing has been long overdue. Ranbir plays the character of Johnny Balraj, who is passionately and obsessively in love with Rosie Noronha (played by Anushka). The dramatic twist in the tale is that Rosie has been sent to the Bombay Velvet club (managed by Johnny and owned by Kaizad Khambatta - played by Karan Johar) to find a negative that holds the evidence to a deadly crime committed by Johnny and Khambatta. As Rosie gets to know Johnny, she falls for him. As their romance blooms, Rosie's mysterious past seem to haunt her present. What will be the final outcome? That's what 'Bombay Velvet' is all about.

Talking about their Johnny and Rosie's romance and Ranbir and Anushka's chemistry, directed by Anurag says, "Ranbir and Anushka's chemistry in the film are just too hot to handle.

They really compliment each other in the film. Johnny and Rosie's romance is very innocent, very child-like. They are obsessed about each other, protective about each other and passionately possessive about each other. In other words, Johnny and Rosie create an island for themselves despite being in the middle of a world full of crime, corruption and deceit.

They can only be pure when they are with each other. Their romance is extraordinary. Ranbir and Anushka have done a fabulous job to bring to life Johnny and Rosie's love story and that's because they are fantastic actors themselves."

Produced by Phantom and Fox Star Studios, 'Bombay Velvet' releases on May 15, this Friday.
