Daggubati Rana and Genelia D'Souza starrer 'Naa Istam' started shooting in Hyderabad on Friday. The muhurtham shot was picturised on Rana at Ramanaidu studios in Nanakramguda in Hyderabad.

The regular shooting of the film started from Friday and it will be complete in three schedules. United movies banner which produced 'Simha' is producing this film and Paruchuri Kireeti is the producer. Prakash Tholeti is debuting as director with this movie.

Director Boyapati Srinu gave the first ceremonial clap and Daggubati Suresh Babu switched on the camera for the muhurtham shot. D Ramanaidu, hero Ram, editor Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao were present at the muhurtham shot.

Bramhanandam,Harshavardhan, Naaser, Raghubabu, Aahuti Prasad, Ali, Ajay, Bharath Uttej et al will act in this family entertainer. Chakri is the music director and Venkat Prasad is the cinematograher for the film.

Rana's two films 'Dum Maro Dum' and 'Nenu Naa Rakshasi' disappointed him as they bombed at the box office. He was criticised for his poor acting skills. We are yet to see if this movie resurrects his career at all.
