Rana-Miheekas Roka ceremony was as per Marwari tradition

Rana Daggubati didn't get engaged on Thursday, contrary to what has been reported. It was a Roka function. What is a Roka ceremony? As per Weddingwire.in, "it is the first formal event to occur in a series of festive events before a wedding. It signals the bride and groom's acceptance of each other."

Speaking to Bombay Times, the mother of Rana's girlfriend has opened up on the Thursday event in Hyderabad. "We come from a Marwari family and Roka is a part of our tradition. We started the day with a small Ganpati puja at our residence and then we had the Roka ceremony, where we applied tilak to the groom, and the families exchanged sweets," she has been quoted as saying.
