Daggubati Rana has left for Mumbai to work for the film Department, a multi-starrer being directed by Ram Gopal Varma. It is understood that the long schedule will see him shooting for crucial scenes. Just back from Kaula Lampur, after shooting for Naa Ishtam, Rana is now busy with this Bollywood project.

Varma is ensuring that Rana's character makes an impact in the film. Since he is playing a cop in the movie, the tall and handsome actor was asked to pump his energy to add a dynamism to the role.

This is the first film in Hindi in which Rana is getting to play a lead role. Besides, he stands out among an ensemble cast in the film, which includes veterans like Sanjay Dutt, Naseeruddin Shah, Raveena Tandon and stars like Kangana Ranaut.

Rana's recent outing in Hind, Dum Maro Dum, turned out to be a cropper at the box office. Against this background, he is pinning hopes on Department.
