Formally announcing the titles of Rana Daggubati's adventure flick with Prabhu Solomon, Eros International has said that the film has completed its second schedule. Touted to be an ode to animals, 'Aranya' (Telugu) has been shot in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil with an ensemble cast also starring Pulkit Samrat, Vishnu, Zoya Hussein and Kalki Koechlin.
Titled 'Haathi Mere Saathi' in Hindi and 'Kaadan' in Tamil, the expensive movie "highlights man-animal relationship is a unique story inspired by true events and a fitting tribute to yesteryear classic, 'Haathi Mere Saathi' (1971)," a statement from the makers says.
What about the division of the cast in the three languages? "While Rana, Zoya and Kalki feature in all the three language films, Pulkit’s character will be portrayed by popular Tamil actor Vishnu Vishal in the Tamil and Telugu versions along with character artist Raghu Babu," the makers say.
The homework that the 'Baahubali' star has done for the role needs special mention. "The actor attended an extensive workshop for 50 days in Thailand to gain a deeper understanding of the nuances of elephants and has also shed almost 15kg for his character," the makers inform.
The film will be a visual treat. "The film is mounted on a huge scale with never-seen-before visual effects this genre is being shot extensively at real locations in Thailand and Kerala," they say.
Sunil Lulla, Managing Director of Eros International, says that 'Aranya' is a compelling film set in the natural world.
Music is by Shantanu Moitra and the sound designed is by the super-talented Resul Pookutty.
