After getting national-level acclaim for her portrayal of Sivagami in 'Baahubali-2', Ramya Krishna will be seen in a horror-fantasy titled 'Mathangi'. Directed by Kannan Thamarakkulam, the film has Jayaram and Sampath Raj (of 'Mirchi' fame) in two of the key roles. Akshara Kishore and Angelina Abrahman will be seen in other key roles.

Mother-daughter sentiment is a leitmotif, the makers aver. "A huge hit in Malayalam, this film is brought in Telugu by Vinay Krishnan, Ramya Krishna's sister, who has produced 'Vamsam', a run-away success of a TV serial in Tamil," the makers aver.

They claim that "necessary changes" have been made to better suit the tastes of the Telugu audience. "The two child artistes have given a dashing performance. Ratish's BGM is a highlight," they add.

Om Puri, Sheelu Abraham, Ramesh Pisharody, Saju Navodaya and others are a part of the cast.

Vennelakanti has written the Telugu version. Cinematography is by Jithu Damodar. Editing is by Pavankumar V.
