Highly reputed Kannada actress Ramya has won the MP by election from Mandya. The counting of by election to Mandya and Bangalore Rural commenced in the morning and by noon the results were declared. Anitha Kumaraswamy head of Kasthuri satellite channel, wife of former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy was defeated by Congress I DK Suresh by a huge margin.

The expected result has come for Ramya. She will be Member of Parliament for around nine months as the next LS elections are scheduled in middle of 2014.

Sandalwood Queen Ramya also famous in Telugu and Tamil as ‘Divya Spandana’ with emotional setback participated in the campaigning. She had very good support from former union and present union ministers. The wish of recently expired foster father of Ramya – RT Narayan is fulfilled now.

In Kannada cinema industry it is first Ambarish won from the same constituency for three times to Lok Sabha. Shashikumar another actor won from Chitradurga constituency. A few of the actors tried and lost in the LS elections.

Actress Ramya of Congress I has secured 4, 60,779 votes while CS Puttaraju of JDS got 3,94 263 votes. Ramya thanks the congress people who have supported her in this win. I did not expect the win. I will not disappoint my voters. I go to the people talk to them and solve their problems Ramya replied for a reaction.

In Kannada cinema she has unfinished projects like Dil Ka Raaja, Neer Dosai, Aryan – all three are under production. She has signed a film for producer SV Babu and agreed for a film with Kichcha Sudeep.
