Ramesh plays 'Kabbadi'

National 'Kabbaddi' champion B.C.Ramesh played his favorite game 'Kabbaddi' in reel life. He appeared as one of the members of Mandya Blues team in which the hero Praveen Kumar lead the team for 'Kabbaddi' Kannada film. It may be recalled famous football player Pele played a role in the film 'Escape to Victory'. Mandya district known for sugarcane and Kabbaddi tournaments had a feast of this national game for one week. 19 teams in the male and 17 teams in the female category took part in this national championship arranged for the purpose of this film shooting by director Narendra Babu and producer Kishore.

EME boys and Secunderabad Girls team won the final championship. The cash prize of Rs.1 lakh was given to boys winning team while Rs.75000 was given to winning girls team. In the Boys category Rs.75000 and 50000 was given second and third positions. In the Girls category the second and third position team got Rs.50000 and Rs.25000.

Speaking to media persons at the Sir M.Visveswaraya playground in Mandya the pride of the nation Ramesh said he appeared for the shoot only because of his friend Narendra Babu and famous character actor of Kannada cinema Kishore. I was asked to play inspector roles in the past but I rejected all of them.
