As reported yesterday, Geetha Arts' leader Allu Aravind, producer Madhu Mantena and Namit Malhotra of Prime Focus have joined hands for a historical-mythological. It will be a tri-lingual to be based on the Great Indian Epic Ramayana.
The news is that the three-part project will be made on a budget of Rs 1500 Cr. "Each of the parts will see an investment of up to Rs 500 Cr. Double Negative VFX is an associate of Prime Focus. Having won four Oscars in graphic-related categories, this company is well-positioned to make Ramayana a visually-rich film," the makers say.
With the budget touching 15 billion rupees, this is going to be bigger than three 'RRR' movies!
Nitesh Tiwari of 'Dangal' fame and Ravi Udyawar will direct the films. "They have shown their stamina in making universally-appealing movies. We are happy that they are on board," the makers add.
"We will make the film in 3D format as well. It will be a three-part series and will be shot in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi," the makers say. The cast and crew are yet to be announced but actors from all major industries in India will feature in it. Expect one or two big names from Tollywood to feature in this pan-Indian film. The first of the three films will hit the screens only in 2021.
