'Ramarao On Duty' is set to hit the screens this Friday (July 29). Today, a video clip of an action scene in the movie surfaced on the Internet. In the clip, Ravi Teja's character is heard warning land-grabbers and sand-miners, saying that he doesn't care even if they belong to the ruling party. The leaked scene has given the impression that the film is going to take a veiled dig at the powers-that-be.
Putting the record straight, director Sarath Mandava has come out saying that his film is entirely apolitical in nature. He described his product as a thriller revolving around missing individuals.
"Based on a small clip from our movie, some news is being spread that 'RamaRao On Duty' has some political scenes. A BIG NO! There are no scenes and no story plot is relevant to the politics of our Telugu states. It’s a thriller based on missing people. NO POLITICS in our film," he said.
The film, co-starring Divyansha Kaushik and Rajisha Vijayan, is produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri.
