'Rama Banam', starring Gopichand in the lead, is coming from a surging 'film factory' called People Media Factory. Co-starring Jagapathi Babu and Khushbu Sundar, the film will hit the screens on May 5.

Producer TG Vishwa Prasad in this interview talks about the film at length. He and co-producer Vivek Kuchibotla are doing about two dozen projects these days. The banner's aim is to become the fastest production company to reach the milestone of 100 films.

Highlights:

When director Sriwass narrated the script, we liked the family orientation and quality of the script. High production values will definitely delight the audience. For a film thoroughly hinged on brother sentiment, 'Rama Banam' is the apt title. The title was suggested by Nandamuri Balakrishna garu.

It is not like 'Rama Banam' is an out-and-out family entertainer. There are loads of roller-coaster scenes and action moments as well.

New producers face certain bottlenecks in any film industry. To dodge them, our banner has incorporated the factory model. There are around 30-40 films in the pipeline from us. (The projects are in different stages of production. Among them are the Prabhas-Maruthi film and the Pawan Kalyan-Sai Dharam Tej movie. In May alone, there are at least two releases. If the first one is 'Rama Banam', the second one is Siddharth's 'Takkar' in Telugu and Tamil).

Movies can be thought-provoking and inspiring. Their potential and my general passion for cinema drew our banner towards launching umpteen projects. I am a producer by passion. As a business leader, I have been into technology services. We believe in variety and branching out into other languages. We are producing crossover content and non-Telugu content as well, although our primary focus is on Telugu cinema.

People Media Factor attempts to build an entire ecosystem to give a fillip to the film industry. We focus on creating the infrastructure and systems needed to facilitate the process of filmmaking. We seek to support creative people with resources and tools. As a producer, I believe that one must have a keen eye for recognizing potential in a script (regardless of the genre). Synergies must be developed to balance creativity and commerce. We believe in a process-driven approach to planning as a production house that wants to corporatize movie planning.

Non-theatrical revenue is fetching about 50% of the total revenue for films. We have done and will continue to do OTT-specific content. We have a studio and are also doing films in other languages.

The US episodes of 'Padutha Theeyagaa' were handled by us. In 2015 or so, we got in touch with a US-based regulatory body while trying to overcome entry barriers in the film industry.
