Although `Ram' is a remake of `Ready' Telugu film it is a complete entertainer for the family. The huge canvas, the rich production values, lengthy yet convincing screenplay, performance of artists, rich locales, excellent cinematography plus three lovely songs make a sumptuous food for the family audience. For Puneeth Rajakumar fans this is an extra thrill for the Christmas and New Year.
Releasing at the fag end of the year `Raam' journey is a jolly going, action packed with sentiment sure to attract the masses. Compared to earlier films of power star Puneeth Rajakumar the film `Ram' can boast of more comedy. Director K Madesh with `who's who' of Kannada cinema supporting artists has managed to give a convincing film.
Ram (Puneeth Rajakumar) is a clever youngster in the huge family. He has too good nature to help others. In one of the supports he extends to his friend he is forced to kidnap the bride from the marriage hall. By mistake of his friends he lands up in wrong Kalyan Mantap and kidnap Pooja (Priyamani). As a matter of fact Pooja also wanted this to happen as she is in the clutches of her uncle's ego clash. Pooja safeguarded well from the hands of her uncle goons gets a place to live for 15 days in the house of Ram. Pooja a bubbly girl adjust to the huge family of Ram and the love affair thereafter between Ram and Pooja puts the entire family in quixotic situation.
Now Ram has to convince the two cruel uncles of Pooja. Via common auditor of the two uncles of Pooja it is a cake walk for Ram to readjust everything. The efficiency shown by Ram in uniting the disturbed minds is appreciable. All bad elements rejoice with good nature is another beauty of the film.
Puneeth Rajakumar perfectly suits this kind of film. He has power and perchance for comedy is fulfilled in this film. In songs, emotions, romance and dance Puneeth has shown high degree of skill. Priyamani no doubt is a treat to watch. Her exemplary attitude to perform and dance is commendable.
Rangayana Raghu is the best of this year one could say. His forte for comedy filled with lovely modulation in dialogue delivery is the major bonus of this film. All the prominent supporting artists strike in small yet important roles. The element of saying `I Love You' by the aged couple is so important from the society point of view.
Hosa Gana Bajana...is for fans and for music lovers the song Neenandre Ishta Kane..a duet song would remain in the memory for a long time. V Harikrishna the best music director of the year 2009 gives another prominent film. Krishnakumar the ace cameraman has made every shot in the film look very fresh and colorful.
This is `Ram' Utsav during the Christmas season. Go without fail to watch this entertainer.
