Ram Pothineni Turns Director; Launches His Biggest-Ever Film #RAPO23

In a major career milestone, Ram Pothineni has officially stepped behind the camera for the first time. The Energetic Star has launched #RAPO23, marking his directorial debut with what is being billed as the most ambitious and highest-budget film of his career.

Backed by Krishna Pothineni under the newly launched Rapo Cinematics banner, the project was formally inaugurated with a traditional pooja ceremony. During the launch, Krishna Pothineni handed over the script to Ram, while veteran producer P. Murali Mohan switched on the camera for the muhurtham shot and P. V. Ravi Kishore sounded the clapboard. Fittingly, Ram directed the very first shot himself, officially beginning his journey as a filmmaker.

The film has also commenced its regular shoot on the outskirts of Hyderabad, with Ram joining the sets as the lead actor.

What makes #RAPO23 even more special is that the film is based on an original story conceived and written by Ram himself. Described as a psychological action thriller set in a neo-noir world, the film promises an unconventional narrative with intense character arcs and a fresh cinematic experience.

Apart from directing, Ram will also headline the film, taking on one of the most challenging roles of his career while simultaneously handling responsibilities behind the camera.

The makers have also assembled a strong technical team for the project. National Award-winning cinematographer Thirunavukarasu (Thirru) will handle the visuals, renowned stunt choreographer Peter Hein is designing the action sequences, and acclaimed production designer A. S. Prakash is creating massive sets to bring Ram’s vision to life.

The cast is expected to feature several prominent actors, with official announcements to be made in the coming days.

With Ram Pothineni wearing multiple hats as writer, director, and lead actor, #RAPO23 has already emerged as one of the most anticipated Telugu films currently in production.
