Ram Nath Kovind, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance`s candidate, is the 14th president of India after he won the Presidential elections with more than 2/3 votes in his favour.
The former Bihar Governor was expected to be in a tight race with his only other competitor, Meira Kumari. Reports suggest that Kovind`s massive win was due to cross voting in seven votes. PM Narendra Modi congratulated the new President and tweeted a picture of them together from 20 years ago.
