The massacre of Jallianwala Bagh marked one of the darkest days in the history of modern India. The incident which fueled several armed rebellions in the colonial India has been featured in several Bollywood films. However, none of the films have shown an extensive insight into the event. Latest reports suggest that filmmaker Ram Madhvani is planning to make a web show based on the massacre.

Buzz suggests that the project will be titled 'Jallianwala Bagh: The Waking of A Nation'. The incident took place on April 13, 1919 when British troops opened fire on a crowd gathered for a peaceful protest in the Jallianwala Bagh. Hunter commission was set up by the government to investigate what actually transpired before and during the event. This commision is the main source of information for the Ram Madhvani project.

Coincidentally, filmmaker Karan Johar also announced a similar project few days ago. It is a biopic on C Sankaran Nair, who had fought against the British Raj to uncover the truth about the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.
