Ram Leela
Paying an ode to this mother's name with his upcoming magnum opus, Sanjay Leela Bhansali pays tribute through the romantic-drama titled `Ram-Leela'. As the tagline of the film states, `Goliyon Ki Raasleela', this love story of `Ram' and `Leela' isn't a regular one. Staying true to Bhansali's trademark grandeur and majestic taste, the film promises to be a love story like no other. While the posters showed the sizzling chemistry between the lead pair, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, the trailers further magnified their intense chemistry as the contemporary version of Romeo-Juliet, set against the dramatic backdrop of the dacoit heartlands of Gujarat.
Set in the present day, landscape of Gujarat, woven with song and dance, `Ram-Leela', takes audiences through love in turbulent times, where worlds collide, wars are fought and destinies are written in blood forever.
The film also stars Supriya Pathak as Dhankorba (Deepika's mother), Gulshan Devaiah as Bhavani (antagonist) in pivotal roles while Priyanka Chopra features in special number.
Produced by Kishore Lulla and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Eros International's `Ram-Leela' has been the first Indian film to open any international festival - that is by inaugurating the 13th edition of the Marrakech International Film Festival (coming 29th Nov).
`Ram-Leela' is scheduled to release November 15th 2013.
