The teaser of Om Raut's 'Adipurush' has been facing a lot of flak for its cheap VFX and poor representation of Hindu mythological characters and apart from that people are also criticising lead actor Prabhas who seems miscast in the role of Lord Ram. However, some people have suggested that 'Adipurush' is a part of an elaborate plot to ruin the reputation of Prabhas.
Commenting on the same, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma recently told a Telugu news outlet, "I have never heard a bigger joke in my life. "
Sharing his views on the massively panned teaser of 'Adipurush', RGV said, "We have an idea that how Rama looks. When Adipurush is different from our idea, many are making criticism. To be honest I don’t like Saif Ali Khan’s look as Ravan. Because since my childhood I used to see SV Ranaga Rao as Ravanasura. Ravan had long hair, majestic look. When I saw Saif Ali Khan, I was a bit sad. In a democratic country, everyone has rights to do anything. If you don’t like movie, don’t watch, if like watch it. Moreover, in the form of troll, the freedom of others should not be taken away.”
Starring Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan and Kriti Sanon, 'Adipurush' is set to release in January 2023.
