Ram Gopal Varma has filed complaints against activist Kolikapudi Sreenivasa Rao with the Andhra Pradesh police, both online and in person. He shared clips from a TV5 live debate where Kolikapudi allegedly offered a reward of ₹1 crore for RGV's beheading.
In the video, Kolikapudi is heard making the statement and despite the anchor's attempt to stop him, he reiterated the offer, stating, “Nothing is bigger to me than society, not even myself.” These comments were made during a discussion about RGV's upcoming film, 'Vyooham,' said to involve Andhra Pradesh politics.
The activist continued by challenging RGV to make films about minority communities, warning that such actions might lead to lethal consequences. RGV posted the clips on his social media accounts, tagging the Andhra Pradesh police, urging them to consider his tweets as a formal complaint.
RGV accused Kolikapudi of offering a contract to kill him and implicated TV5's anchor Samba and owner B R Naidu for allegedly supporting the activist. He formally lodged a complaint at the DGP's office in Vijayawada, sharing a photo of himself filing the complaint alongside a police officer. He stressed the seriousness of the situation, referring to the monetary contract on his life and condemning the TV5 channel for supposedly facilitating discussions about his beheading.
