Come Oct 15, Ram Charan will perform at a charity event to be hosted by Republican Hindu Coalition (RHC) at PNC Art Centre in New Jersey. The Mega Power Star will perform along with Prabhu Deva and Akhil Akkineni.
Details about what is in store have been revealed by the organizers. We are going to see break dance-inspired performances on that evening.
This is the first time that Cherry will be performing LIVE in a US concert. The event is christened as 'Humanity United Against Terror', a charity concert for the benefit of terror victims. "The event will be broadcast in about 150 countries. It will reach about 1 billion people," Shalli Kumar of RHC has said.
The event has assumed political significance because Donal Trump, the Republican Presidential candidate, is going to address NRIs there. "For the first time in the history of US and India, we have a presidential candidate gracing a Hindu American event just three weeks prior to the elections. We are the only community that Trump is going to address. It highlights the importance of Hindu Americans and their contribution to US politics," Shalli has said. "Until this time, US politicians have been addressing us as South Asians. But through this event, we want the Hindus to get a place and a voice in the society," Shalli has said.
"There are nearly 4.2 million Hindu Americans and we want to have a unified platform to showcase the Hindu voice in policy-making. We have to participate in the democratic process and be part of the discussions. This is important for politicians to recognize the existence and contribution of Hindu American community," the RHC leader has said.
