The first glimpse of Ram Charan’s upcoming film Peddi has taken the internet by storm. The cricketing moment has gained such massive popularity that several IPL teams have incorporated it into their social media campaigns.
In an exclusive conversation with Filmfare, director Buchi Babu Sana shared intriguing insights about Peddi. He described the film as “a blend of real and fictional tales from a village,” emphasizing his passion for rooted storytelling.
“I always aspire to tell stories that are deeply connected to our soil because I believe they resonate more powerfully with audiences. Rooted narratives carry an inherent intensity and the ability to influence people emotionally,” Buchi Babu explained.
Interestingly, the director conceived Peddi during the COVID-19 pandemic. “After writing the story, I shared it with Sukumar Garu, who immediately suggested I narrate it to Ram Charan. During the narration, I could sense Charan Garu’s intense engagement—the story struck a chord instantly. He greenlit the project in the very first sitting, with only minor tweaks. The rest, as they say, is history.”
During the same interview, Buchi also said that he and Ram Charan bond over mythological stories well. Buchi told that he is religious oriented and had that connection with Charan too.
