The brutal honour killing of Pranay has shocked the Telugu States. Ram Charan has on Tuesday become the first big star to condemn the shameful caste murder.
"Extremely disgusted with the so-called ‘honour killing’.. Where is the honour in taking a life? Where are we going as a society? Deepest condolences to Amrutha Varshini and the rest of Pranay’s family. May his soul rest in peace!!" the 'Rangasthalam' actor said, adding that love has no boundaries. He demanded justice for Pranay.
His wife Upasana Kamineni added, "Sad times. Where are we going?"
Amrutha's demand is that a statue of her late husband should be put up in a Miryalaguda junction so that Pranay's sacrifice doesn't go waste. "He married me against all odds, knowing full well that he faced threat to his life from my father. He refused the offer of crores of crores from my dad and insisted on never letting me go," the widowed girl said.
