Ram's 'Peranbu' nominated for Two awards

Recently, director Ram's upcoming film 'Peranbu' was screened in the 47th International Film Festival held in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The film was highly praised by the audience and jury. Now it has been confirmed that 'Peranbu' has been voted as one of the top 20 films of the festival and it has also been nominated for two awards in the prestigious film festival.
Here is the official press statement from the film's producer P.L.Thenappan of Shree Raaja Lakshmi Films.
"In the 47th International Film Festival of Rotterdam, only the director's first two films are eligible for the main competition category. Our film 'Peranbu' was eligible only for the Audience Award Category.
Based on the voting of the festival audience, Peranbu secured the 20th position amongst 187 films considered for the Audience award category. Also, Peranbu was nominated for the NETPAC award.
We sincerely thank the organisers of International Film Festival of Rotterdam for the opportunity and the festival audience for voting 'Peranbu' to the top 20.
Also we would like to thank Mr. Olaf Moeller, the curator of House on Fire section, Mr. Stefan Borsos and the festival organisers for screening Tamil films under the House on Fire section at 47th International Film Festival of Rotterdam.
Most importantly, we would like to thank the media and fans across the world for your love and continuous support for 'Peranbu'."
'Peranbu' stars Mammotty, Anjali, Anjali Ameeer (Transgender) and Samuthirakani in importalt roles. Yuvan Shankar Raja has provided the music score for the film.
