It was earlier reported that director A.R.Murugadoss's mega project with Mahesh Babu in the lead will have Bollywood beauty Parineeti Chopra as the female lead. But now the team seems to have opted for a replacement for her.

The industry buzz is that Rakul Preet Singh, who has acted in Tamil films and Telugu films is likely to replace Parineeti as the lead lady of this Telugu-Tamil bilingual.It is to be noted that Rakul will also be acting with Vishal in director Mysskin's 'Thupparivalan.'

We will have to wait for the official confirmation, however. SJ Suryah has been confirmed for the lead antagonist role in this film whose shooting is expected to begin by the end of this month.

Meanwhile Murugadoss's Bollywood project 'Akira' starring Sonakshi Sinha and Anurag Kashyam will be hitting the screens on September 2. The trailer released earlier this week and has received a thunderous response.
