Ulaga Naygan Kamal Haasan and Director Shankar have joined hands after 23 years for the sequel to their blockbuster 1996 movie Indian, and while this movie was launched in January itself, due to unexpected delays the movie was not making any progress but now, reportedly the movie is back on track.

With some new casting additions, Indian 2 is said to be resuming shooting from August first week. Initially, Kajal Aggarwal was announced as the female lead, and Siddharth was said to be playing an important role as well. Recently, Aishwarya Rajesh and Priya Bhavani Shankar were added to the team.

The latest update was the inclusion of Rakul Preet Singh in the cast, and now it has been revealed that Rakul Preet Singh will be playing Siddharth's pair in the movie. Indian 2 is produced by Lyca Productions and will have music by Anirudh, and this is his first movie with Shankar and Kamal Haasan.
