'Mirziya' being his first ever love story, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra did an extensive recce for the film. The director was keen to shoot the film in a place which can lend itself to the script. They scouted for locations and locked on many unexplored destinations in Rajasthan.

According to our sources, it was a 2.5 month long shooting schedule shot in various cities in Rajasthan. It was long schedule where the entire team had been shooting 14-16 hrs each day. Incidentally, the place, the weather, the costumes are all part of Rakeysh's storytelling.

Rakeysh has a unique way of rendering the script. Inspite of the being extremely arduous, the shoot has also turned out to be very productive.
