'Bhaag Milka Bhaag' famed director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, currently occupied with the shoot of his forthcoming film 'Mirziya', shot a portion of the film in Ladakh. According to a source close to the film, Rakeysh, along with the unit had gone to shoot 'Mirziya' when the weather was normal, but during the shoot, they experienced rains. The filmmaker used this opportunity to shoot Ladakh in the monsoon.
Revealed the spokesperson further, "People will see the region in a way they have not seen before - almost as if the director has tapped into the virgin locations of Ladakh in the rains and for the first time. It wasn`t an easy task to shoot, as the lights in the region remains for merely two hours in the day during monsoon and this made the shoot very difficult."
Rakeysh added, "I went back to shoot in Ladakh for Mirziya for the third time (after 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' and the Athithi Devo Bhava ad with Aamir khan). For Mirzya, we went deeper into Ladakh where no film unit has gone before. The results are amazing and I can`t wait to see the edit."
'Mirziya' is a contemporary love story and stars newcomers Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher. Incidentally, 'Mirziya' is also Mehra's first love story.
