The Karnataka Rajyotsava Awards for 2009-2010 that will be presented today evening by Karnataka chief minister Dr BS Yediyurappa at Ravindra Kalakshetra.

Dream merchant of Kannada cinema V Ravichandran, supporting actor Ramesh Bhat, well known director Nagathihalli Chaandrasekhar, prestigious Lahari Recording Company Velu alias Thulsiram Naidu are among others receiving the awards of Rs.1 lakh, 20 grams gold medal and a citation.

Veteran distributor KV Gupta, Devi of Chennai, comedy actor Nagaraj Kote, eminent singers Manjula Gururaj, Chandrika Gururaj, BR Chaya are the prominent Rajyotsava award winners. Although some of them are in the field of light music they are connected to film industry.

In the dance segment Vijayanthi Kashi is also an actress will receive the Rajyotsava award. In the Rangabhoomi the services of Umesh, Yashwanth Sardeshpande and Devidas Kappikad have been recognized and all of them are in the field of film too.

In the television field too the recognition has come to Rajendra Singh, SP Shivakumar, Ravikiran and Sunil Puranik.
