Actor Jiiva's next release is gonna be Gypsy, directed by national award winning maker Raju Murugan, and after the rousing reception to the teaser released recently, the first single "Very very bad" from the movie was released yesterday at Prasad Lab, Chennai. Speaking during the occasion, lyricist Yugabharathi who has penned the bold lyrics said that, Raju Murugan has been planning to send him to prison by making a film, and lauded producer Ambedkumar for his guts to make the movie despite many obstacles and said that this will be an important movie in Jiiva's career.
Producer Ambedkumar of Olympia films said that Raju Murugan was his good friend but he had never expected he'll make a movie with him, and appreciated Jiiva's efforts for the movie, and thanked the director for making Gypsy for him. During his speech, Raju Murugan thanked Ambedkumar and Yugabharathi saying that the movie would never have happened without them. Gypsy is a romantic musical film and not a political film and Santhosh Narayanan was referred to as Thozhar(comrade) in the invite as anyone fighting injustice can be called a comrade, added Raju Murugan,who heaped praises on the film's music.
Hero Jiiva said that he was impressed even after hearing the one-line of the movie, about how a folk singer transforms to a rebel singer during his journey in search of his love, adding that Gypsy is a celebration of nature and humaneness, and the movie has a lot of detailing in it. Speaking of the Very Very Bad song, Jiiva said that he knew that the song will be received well, when the general audience outnumbered junior artists during the shoot itself, and that he is happy to have acted in Gypsy.
