It has been 45 years since Superstar Rajnikanth made his debut in films with K Balachander's Aboorva Ragangal, which released on August 15, 1975. The film industry has celebrated 45 years of Rajinism by trending the hashtag and following this, Superstar Rajinikanth himself took to social media to thank his fans for the support.

Superstar Rajnikanth tweeted in Tamil, saying that he was thankful for the kind hearts and the fans who gave him life, who wished him on the special occasion celebrating his 45-year-old journey in the film industry. He added the hashtag "Neengal illama naan illa" meaning I am nobody without you.

Many top heroes, heroines, directors from Kollywood, Malayalam, Telugu film industry celebrated the occasion by sharing a common DP for #45YearsofRajinism with the poster featuring some characters the Superstar played, including Endhiran, Sivaji- The Boss, and an unreleased still of Rajinikanth in Kaala look, holding his collar up with rising sun in backdrop.
