Superstar Rajnikanth was last seen in the Karthik Subbaraj directorial revenge drama Petta, which was a superhit, and following the success, the actor is now starring in AR Murugadoss directorial action thriller Darbar, which is his 167th movie and is produced by Lyca Productions.

The team had begun shooting in April and recently wrapped the first schedule in Mumbai and is planning to begin second schedule on May 29. Lady Superstar Nayanthara is paired with Rajnikanth, while the movie also has Nivetha Thomas, Yogi Babu, Prateik Babbar, John Mahendran and many others.

The latest exciting update on Darbar is that, the introduction song of Superstar Rajnikanth will be sung by none other than SP Balasubrahmanyam, who has sung almost all the entry songs of Superstar, and it has also been said that unlike Petta where SPB had sung only few lines in the song with Anirudh singing most of it, here it will be only SPB voicing for Rajnikanth. Anirudh again scores music for Darbar after Petta.
