It is turning out to be a win-win situation for horror-musical flick Saansein - The Last Breath. The film was originally slated to release on 11th November alongside two sequels Rock On 2 and Chaar Sahibzaade - Rise of Banda Singh Bahadur, as well as a couple of other smaller films. While that would have resulted in the Rajiv S. Ruia directed film to be trapped alongside a huge crowd, there would also have been a struggle to get the right screens. Well, now that it is arriving on 25th November instead, the situation is much better for the film since it is getting the right mix of multiplex as well as single screens.
"The film is looking at a 50-50 split now and if all goes well as per plans, it would fetch a very substantial count of screens," informs our trade source, "Dear Zindagi is a major release of the week and that is primarily aiming for multiplex audience. Moreover, since it is a niche affair as well, it isn't as if all screens in multiplexes would play only the Shahrukh Khan and Alia Bhatt starrer. There would be space provided to other films as well."
The situation is much better for the film in the single screens since other than Force 2, there is nothing else on the anvil.
"Even the John Abraham and Sonakshi Sinha starrer would be in the second week then. Moreover, Shivaay is through with its run. Horror genre is hot favorite in B and C centers and that would help Saansein - The Last Breath get some good visibility in the interiors," the trade source continues.
In a way, demonetization drive turned out to be a blessing in disguise for the Rajniesh Duggall and Sonarika Bhadoria starrer since a fortnight's delay has helped it gain added visibility amongst exhibitors.
"Since the film is just 100 minutes long, there can be more shows squeezed in as well. That would be further beneficial for the film," an exhibitor adds.
Also starring Hiten Tejwani and Neetha Shetty, the film is third major horror release in 2016 after Raaz Reboot and 1920 London.
