Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi, who has directed several superhits films in the 90s is set to make his Bollywood comeback with the film 'Gandhi Godse Ek Yuddh'. His last film was 'Phata Poster Nikla Hero' which came out in 2013. 'Gandhi Godse Ek Yuddh' is set to release on republic day which means that it is going to clash with Shahrukh Khan's 'Pathan' which is the most anticipated Bollywood film at the moment.
Talking about this clash, Santoshi recently stated that his film is vastly different from 'Pathan' and that's why he isn't particularly concerned about the clash. According to a report in The Indian Express, the filmmaker said, "Shah Rukh Khan is a very hardworking actor. He is one of the most respected stars of the industry. I’ve known him for years, he is a very good person. He puts a lot of effort in his films, and I send him good wishes for his film. Yash Raj Films is a very reputed banner and they’re coming with a very ambitious film. They have a separate fan following and they will watch their film."
He continued, "Our film is very different, people who have interest in such films and like such films will watch our film. Ours is not a song-and-dance film, it is a very different film. I don’t worry about such things (box office clash). Both the films are very different in nature and each in its proper place. I’m not worrying about who is in front of us, I’m only focusing on my film.”
