The much-delayed '2.0' has finally got a release date. Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, its director Shankar put out the release date.

"Hi everyone.. at last the vfx companies promised the final delivery date of the vfx shots. The movie will release on Nov 29th 2018," he said.

There were rumors that the Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar starrer would be releasing only in 2019. With vfx works on the verge of completion, it has been avoided.

The makers had planned huge Trailer launch and other events last year. With the audio launch happening in Dubai last year, the trailer could be out in a grand Hyderabad event. The film's budget is upwards of Rs. 450 crore, including publicity budget. The Telugu version alone needs to collect more than Rs. 100 crore. The sci-fi has music by AR Rahman.
