Raghava Lawrence has revealed that Rajinikanth will be doing 'Chandramukhi 2', a sequel to be directed by P Vasu, the helmer of 'Chandramukhi' released in 2005. He has stated that the Thalaivar (Rajini's sobriquet) has given him permission and blessings to act in the film.

'Chandramukhi', an iconic horror-comedy-drama, was a smashing hit in Tamil as well as Telugu. Released amid not-so-high expectations, it featured Rajinikanth, Jyothika, Nayanthara, Prabhu, Nasser, Vadivelu and Vineeth. Its songs were chartbuster hits.

'Chandramukhi-2' has been waiting to happen. P Vasu has penned the script over the years. Sun Pictures has teamed up with Rajini to produce it. The 'Darbar' actor is doing a film with Kollywood director Siva after the AR Murugadoss outing.
