Kamal Haasan's 'Papanasam' released today to widespread acclaim and audiences are welcoming the film with open arms enthralled by the Ulaganayagan`s towering performance. Few know that director Jeethu Joseph first met Rajinikanth for the remake and the Superstar showed much interest in doing it.

But Jeethu backed out at the last moment because he felt that the scene in which Kamal is kicked by Kalabhavan Mani, many times and the climax will not go well with Rajini`s fans and he communicated it to the Superstar and promised to get back with a different script to which the legend agreed. Jeethu has said that he will one day work with Rajinikanth with a suitable script. Its really a costly miss for Rajini`s fans as he would have given a very different color to the character.
