Rajinikanth summoned in connection with Tutucorin police firing incident

Superstar Rajinikanth has been summoned to appear in person before the Aruna Jagadeeshan headed Enquiry Committee into the Tuticorin police firing incident that claimed 13 lives on May 22nd 2018. The protestors against the Sterlite Factory were marching towards the Collectors office when a riot broke out resulting in the firing and deaths which shocked the entire nation.

Rajinikanth travelled to Tuticorin and met the people injured there and consoled them. Later on his return to Chennai, he spoke to the press that anti-social elements started the riots and the police had to take the extreme action. Naam Tamizhar Katchi President Seeman had deposed before the Commission that Rajinikanth knows the details regarding the anti-social elements and he should be called in for enquiry. Accordingly the Superstar has been summoned.
