'Collection King' of yesteryear, Dr. Mohan Babu, is going to be seen as the lead role in a remake. It's in the remake of 'Pa Paandi', which is the debut directorial outing of Kollywood star Dhanush.

Rajinikanth, the father-in-law of Dhanush, was the force behind setting the remake for his dear friend Mohan Babu. The Manchu patriarch watched a special screening of the movie days before its release on April 14. He liked the portrayal of how an aged lonely man yearns for companionship.

Opened to critical acclaim yesterday, it's good that it's not being dubbed and released in Telugu, in which case it would surely have been a flop, thanks to Tamil nativity and Rajkiran's Kollywoodish looks.

Director Subramaniam Shiva of 'Donga Dongadi' fame will helm the Telugu remake. It will be interesting to see as to who will reprise Revathy's role.
