Superstar Rajinikanth and director Shankar have teamed up twice for Sivaji and Robo. While Sivaji ended up as an average grosser, Robo has smashed all the existing records in Kollywood, besides turning out to be a big hit in Telugu states. Once again, the duo is joining hands to work for the sequel of Robo and here is an update about the film's launch.

Initially, Shankar wanted to launch the film on December 12 on the occasion of Rajini's 65 birthday but they have postponed it due to heavy floods in Chennai. According to reports, Shankar and Rajini are planning to launch Robo 2 on December 16 in a low-profile ceremony in the outskirts of Chennai. The principal shooting will also begin on the same day.

AR Rahman is scoring the music, while Amy Jackson is playing the female lead. On the other hand, Rajinikanth is celebrating his 65th birthday with his family and close friends at his residence in Chennai today. We wish him good luck for his future endeavors.
