A few days back Gangai Amaren (Maestro Ilaiyaraja's brother) met Superstar Rajinikanth at the latter's Poes Garden Residence. The meeting between the two stared having repercussions upon political circles of the state.

Gangai Amaren is the BJP's candidate for the upcoming by-elections for the RK Nagar constituency in Chennai, which has been vacated by the sudden demise of Chief Minister J.Jayalalitha in December 2016.

This lead to rumors that Rajinikanth will be supporting the BJP in the RK Nagar election. Taking to Twitter today amid speculations that Rajini is keen on supporting the BJP candidate, the '2.0' actor has said on Twitter that his "support is for no one in the coming elections".
