Three days after announcing his plans to take the political plunge, Superstar Rajinikanth met the DMK patriarch M.Karunanidhi at the latter's Gopalapuram residence in Chennai. 

Rajinikanth has been a good friend of Karunanidhi for long. The nonagenarian politician has been ailing and his movements are limited within the walls of his house. A few months back Rajinikanth met him to inquire about his health

On Wednesday. Rajinikanth reached the Gopalapuram residence of Karunanidhi at around 8 PM. M.K.Stalin, the Working President of the DMK and the son of Karunanidhi was present in the meeting that lasted for around 20 minutes. 

While returning Rajinikanth addressed the press persons who were waiting at the entrance. The Superstar said "This is a courtesy call. Every year I meet him during the New Year. So this year also met him. I informed him about my plans to start a political party and sought his blessings."
