Putting an end to the long wait and agonizing moments for the fans who were anxious about the well being of their demi god, thanks to rumors about his health conditions, the Superstar Rajinikanth reached Chennai at around 8:30 PM on Sunday night. . He has been staying in the USA since the month of June and boarded the flight to Chennai on Sunday.
The Superstar was not even present in the hometown for the release of his much expected film 'Kabali' on July 22 and he watched the film in US at a special screening for the kith and kin of the distributor who released the film all over the country.
News about his arrival leaked in social media and thousands of fans were waiting at the airport premises to catch a glimpse of their matinee idol . The Superstar waved his hands at his fans waiting to see him, before entering the car to reach home from the airport.
The sexagenarian actor is expected resume shooting for his next film '2.0', the mega budget sequel to 'Enthiran' directed by Shankar from August. Meanwhile 'Kabali' has recorded a earth shattering box office collections on the opening weekend, despite getting mixed reviews from fans and critics.
